Starting on Monday, April 13, students and teachers are expected to engage remotely. To facilitate remote learning, the Juarez team has been working diligently to create a virtual online high school. Please click here to learn the details of our school's remote learning plan.

Juarez eAdvising for Seniors

Tuesday, March 17

We understand that this is a hard time, but the Juarez counselors and coaches want to stay connected and support Seniors while we are out of the building. Our team is  available during March 18th - 30th to assist with post-secondary plans. Check your CPS email for more information.

Culinary Team Takes Second Place

Thursday, February 23

Students Melanie Palumbo (12), Yesenia Jimenez (11), Angel Lamegos (10), and Genaro Salgado (10) took home second this weekend at the first culinary competition of the year, the Hospitality Scholarship Foundation's Innovation Competition. Our students were given root vegetables as a secret ingredient and made a Carrot-Goat Cheese Ravioli (from scratch), a Vegetarian Shepards Pie with turnips, parsnips, and sweet potatoes, and a Parsnip Cake with Carrot Ice Cream. Please congratulate them if you see them around!

STEM (Science) Fair

Monday, February 3

After months of preparation, three of our Juarez students competed in the regional STEM fair on January 23rd.  Violeta Lanza, Francisco Pantoja, and Anayely Reyes-Trejo all received “outstanding” awards and will be moving on to the city-wide 2020 exhibition of student STEM research hosted by IIT in March! Please be sure to congratulate them on their hard work and dedication and feel free to ask them about their projects!

If you would like to attend the fair it will be open to the public on Saturday, March 21st in Herman Hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Please reach to Ms. Sullivan for more information. 

Chicagoland Drill Competition

Monday, February 3

On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Benito Juarez’s JROTC drill and color guard teams headed north to Wheeling, Illinois to compete against 19 teams in the Chicagoland Drill Competition hosted by Wheeling High School.  Cadet Jose Ramirez commanded and led a squad of eight cadets in the First Year Cadet Squad event. Cadet Ramirez’s great poise and confidence resulted in his squad of first year cadets marching away with a fourth place finish.  The entire drill and color guard teams executed very well and continue to make Juarez proud.
